Christina Papaconstantinou

Christina Papaconstantinou is Deputy Governor of the Bank of Greece.

She holds degrees from the Law School of the University of Athens and the University of London and has long and wide-ranging professional experience in the public and private sectors, specialising in fiscal policy, financial services, state aid, credit institution liquidation and non-performing loans. From 2012 to 2014, Ms Papaconstantinou served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance and as Secretary General of Fiscal Policy at the General Accounting Office. She has represented Greece at various international fora and has worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office, external consultant on matters of state aid, fiscal management, EU company and competition law, and expert in IMF missions. From 2017 to 2021, she was the Chair of the Board of Directors of “PQH Single Special Liquidation S.A.”. From 2019 to 2021, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. Since 2020, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Concert Hall Organisation.
