Please note that participating European banks are being enabled gradually by each national instant payment system and by the banks themselves.
The first phase of IRIS Payments’ European interconnection for Person-to-Person transactions was launched in June 2026, with the aim of connecting 57.3 million European users across five countries by the end of the year.
The second phase aims to extend the service’s cumulative reach to more than 176 million European users across 18 countries, enabling them to exchange money instantly using their mobile phones.
Service availability depends on the technical activation of the local instant payment system and their participating banks.
*Coverage refers to the ability of IRIS Payments users to send money to BANCOMAT Pay users. The ability to send money from BANCOMAT Pay to IRIS Payments is being gradually enabled by the participating Italian banks.
